Tom Merrill was elected to the Council in November of 2017. Tom moved to Snohomish 4 years ago. He is retired from PACCAR, Inc. where he served in many different management positions in the Information Systems Division.
Tom believes in open, transparent government and that people should have a voice in decisions that affect them. He supports preserving the small-town values of Snohomish while also working to maintain economic renewal. Tom is an active volunteer, served on the Snohomish Open Government Committee, and currently serves on the board of the Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop.
Tom was born and raised in the small town of Gunnison, Colorado. He has a B.S. from Colorado State University in Computer Information Systems and an M.A. from Antioch University. He loves to hike, ride bicycles, kayak, and is trying to master the art of skate skiing.
