Zoning

Zoning establishes separate districts ("zones") for different types of land use, such as commercial, residential, and industrial. These areas are shown on the City's Land Use Designation Map. Within each zone, standards are adopted to regulate the size, use, and location of sites and buildings. Requirements for protecting critical areas, standards for landscaping and parking, and subdividing land are also addressed. Zoning regulations adopted by the City of Snohomish are contained within Title 14 of the Snohomish Municipal Code.

Special Zones

The City has two districts with specially adopted regulations. The Historic District regulations are intended to maintain the historic character of downtown Snohomish. The Pilchuck District was adopted to promote mixed-use development, with the goal of creating a more dense, walkable city neighborhood.
